Vitamin A Palmitate is an ester of retinol and palmitic acid, which is enzymatically split into its components in the skin. It is present here as an oily solution with a content of 175,000 I.U./g in refined sunflower oil.
 
By improving the metabolic activity and regeneration of the skin, retinol promotes the skin's ability to bind moisture and contributes to the firmness and elasticity of the connective tissue.
 
Vitamin A Palmitate is therefore recommended for mature, dry skin. However, it is also suitable for after-sun care.
 
As retinol is sensitive to light and oxygen, in an emulsion also in the form of vitamin A palmitate, only small quantities should be prepared, these should be stored in a cool place and consumed in the foreseeable future. Formulations containing vitamin A are therefore not suitable for "carrying in the blazing sun".
 
Please dose vitamin A palmitate carefully. Due to its high effectiveness, redness/irritation may occur in case of overdosage and sensitive skin. Due to the possible fruit-damaging effect of retinol, refrain from using Vitamin A Palmitate in lip care.
