The anionic and sulphate-free surfactant, which is used in solid soaps (syndets and combobars) and/or shampoo bars due to its excellent foam formation and stability and especially due to its low solubility in water, is extremely mild and very well tolerated by the skin. However, since sodium cocoyl isethionate (SCI) retains its excellent foaming properties even in hard water and, in addition to its good cleansing effect, also has a pleasant conditioning effect on the hair, it is also highly recommended for shampoos and shower gels. As the main surfactant, SCI gives a creamy, dense lather and makes the skin feel soft, smooth and silky. The advantage here is that the SCI is in the form of a fine, almost salt-free powder. In this powder form, it dissolves better in water than available pellets, chunks or similar coarser forms. This Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate is based on coconut oil and is very easily biodegradable.
NOTE:
Wearing a respiratory mask is recommended during processing.
Application concentration:
1 - 20 % as co-surfactant
10 - 60 % as main surfactant
WHAT:
min. 80 % (content of SCI: > 80 %, content of coconut fatty acids < 14 %)
Processing:
In liquid detergents, the powdered SCI must be dissolved hot, using additional surfactants or solvents, as it would be very poorly soluble on its own.
