The amaranth oil is obtained from the dried seeds by high-pressure extraction with natural swelling carbonic acid. Therefore, the yellowish oil with a characteristic odor is free of solvent residues.
Due to its valuable mono- and polyunsaturated fatty acids (20 - 35 % oleic acid and 40 - 55 % linoleic acid) and its exceptionally high content of squalene (min. 5 %), amaranth oil is recommended for all skin types, but especially for dry and sensitive skin, for improving skin elasticity, reducing wrinkles and for prophylaxis of skin aging. The high content of phytosterols, natural tocopherols, and tocotrienols additionally contribute to the soothing and healing properties of amaranth oil. This is particularly evident in the care of damaged, allergy-prone, and itchy skin conditions.
